Accused of Rape of Minor Arrested
Police arrested a 35-year-old man from Kathmandu on 28 March 2023 on the charge of rape of a 6-year-old girl.
The victim’s guardians filed a complaint with the help of Child Helpline Chandragiri on 27 March, at Maharajganj Police Office, Kathmandu.
The aggrieved party reported to the district police office that the accused had raped the victim on 19 March.
The victim’s mother said that the girl is being treated at the Kanti Children’s Hospital in Kathmandu since 20 March after she fell off the motorcycle and suffered bleeding from her sensitive organs. The accused took her on a motorcycle after the rape.
The victim girl told the hospital doctor about the incident during the consultation.
District Police Office Rupandehi DSP Shyamu Aryal said that the accused was arrested based on the complaint filed by the victim.
