Accused of Rape Arrested
Police have arrested Tankaraj Rai, 27, of Manibhanjyang Rural Municipality-5, Dhimle on May 21, 2022, on the charge of raping an 18-year-old girl.
According to DSP Sukdev Khanal, the victim was raped and beaten to death on May 21.
The victim, who was sleeping at home on May 20, was found unconscious in a ditch near her house and was admitted to Okhaldhunga Community Hospital for treatment.
She was shifted to Kathmandu for further treatment because she could not be treated at the community hospital.
According to DSP Khanal, the accused was arrested from Khurkot with the help of Sindhuli Police while he was absconding to Kathmandu. Also, the accused had beaten the victim due to the fear of being exposed after the incident.
