Accused of Rape Arrested
Police arrested 32-year-old Pradip Lama Lopchan of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-18, Chitwan and currently living in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-4 Balwatar, on February 24 for the charge of raping a 12-year-old girl.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint on February 22 at the District Police Office’s Women, Children and Senior Citizen Service Center, Kalimati, Kathmandu, alleging that the victim was abducted from Kathmandu on 4 February and was taken to Palungtar Municipality-5 of Gorkha. She was repeatedly raped from February 13 to February 18.
Kathmandu police arrested the accused based on the same complaint and sent him to Gorkha on February 26.
According to the police, a case under the crime rape has been registered against the accused in the District Court on February 26 . The incident is being investigated with permission to extend the deadline.
The health examination of the victim was done on 26 February at Gorkha Hospital.
