Accused of Rape Arrested
On August 26, the police arrested 30-year-old Narayan Kushmi from Gauriganga Municipality-6 on the charges of raping a 26-year-old woman.
The victim reported to an INSEC representative that she had been raped by the accused on July 12. The victim explained that the accused had contacted her through social media platform TikTok and had lured her into meeting him under the pretense of acquaintance.
Reshmidevi Choudhary, a Ward Member from Godavari Municipality-4, spoke to the INSEC representative over the phone and mentioned that she assisted the victim in filing a complaint at the District Police Office on August 27. She reported that the accused had been causing mental stress to the victim through social media as well.
Based on the physical information provided by the victim, the accused was apprehended from his residence on August 26. Inspector Khagendra Saud from the District Police Office in Kailali informed the INSEC representative during a meeting that the investigation had been extended for five days. The victim underwent a medical examination on August 26 at Seti Provincial Hospital in Dhangadhi.
