Accused of Killing Arrested
The police have arrested Jeevan Rai, 25, on December 20, 2021, on the charge of killing his wife Mandira Rai, 25 of Bhojpur Kerabari and a temporary resident of Katunje in Suryabinayak Municipality-5. She was beaten to death by her husband on December 19.
According to DSP Raju Pandey of the Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur, the accused was arrested after beating his wife to death and hiding in a relative’s place in Katunje.
He further informed that Mandira died due to severe bleeding after her husband beat her during a dispute. Both of them were drunk during the incident.
According to DSP Pandey, the police was conducting further investigation into the incident and the accused was remanded to custody for five days on the order of the court.
The post mortem of the dead body was conducted at KMC Hospital Bhaktapur on December 20.
