Accused of Killing Arrested
Police arrested 38-year-old Dhiren Kumar Choudhary of Gramathan Rural Municipality-4 on March 5 on the charge of killing a 15-year-old girl of Aiselukharka Rural Municipality-6 of Khotang, and was living in Pathari Sanischare Municipality-7 Lamatol.
District Police Office SP Navaraj Karki said that Choudhary was arrested on March 5 from Bhaune forest in Belbari on the charge of killing a girl studying in class seven in Panchayat Higher Secondary School on March 4. The victim was staying at her maternal uncle’s house. SP Karki said that the accused gave the initial statement to the police that the accused was in a relationship with the victim and when the girl refused to accept his marriage proposal, he killed the girl using a sharp weapon. According to the police, the wife of the accused is employed abroad and he has a 14-year-old son.
The body has been kept at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, Ghopa for post-mortem. The body will be handed over to the victim’s brother Binod Rai after the post-mortem on 6 March.
