Accused of Killing Arrested
Police arrested Bhagirath Jaisi, 60, on December 25, in the charge of killing his wife, Muga Devi Jaisi, 59, from Tikapur Municipality-1, Ganeshpur, by hitting her with an axe.
According to Hem Shahi, DSP of Kohalpur area police office, Tikapur, the victim was taken to the Tikapur Hospital for the treatment after the accused hit her head with an axe on December 14. She was later transferred to Kohalpur Medical college due to the unavailability of the treatment at former hospital.
The victim lost her life on December 24 while she was being brought to Mohanyal Rural Municipality-7 from Kohalpur in the request of her relatives. As per the DSP Shahi, the accused has been arrested and the case is under investigation.
Postmortem of the deceased was conducted on December 25 and the body was handed over to the relatives.
