Accused of Killing Arrested
Police have arrested Subhash Japrel, 21, of Durgathali Rural Municipality-5 on September 16, 2021, on the charge of killing his 80-year-old grandmother Rithidevi Japrel.
DSP Rupak Khadka of the District Police Office told INSEC that the corpse of the deceased was found buried in the front yard of the victim house on September 16. Rithidevi Japrel had been missing since September 12 after which her family had filed a complaint with the police.
According to DSP Khadka, the accused Subhash, son of Ram Bahadur Japrel, who is also the ward chairperson of Durgathali Rural Municipality-5, has been arrested as a suspect of the incident.
Ram Bahadur Japrel, told INSEC that he doesn’t believe that his son had committed the murder even though the incident was suspicious.
The body has been brought to the district hospital on September 16 for post-mortem.
