Accused of Killing After Rape Arrested
On October 21, the police arrested Dipchandra Rai, a 21-year-old resident of Amchok Rural Municipality-6, Wayagng, on charges of murdering a seven-year-old girl named Akriti Rai from Amchok Rural Municipality-6.
The young girl had been missing since October 19, 2023, and her lifeless body was discovered in Thumki cave, located in Amchok Rural Municipality-6, on October 21. Her clothing appeared to be untied.
A verbal complaint about the girl’s disappearance was made to the district police office on October 20. In response to this complaint, a search operation was launched. Following the discovery of the girl’s body, Dipchandra was arrested for further investigation.
The girl’s body has been transported to the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan, Ghopa, for a post-mortem examination, which is scheduled to be conducted on October 22, 2023.
