Accused Of Human Trafficking Arrested
The police arrested 27-year-old Bismayan Gurung of Dharche village-7, now Gorkha municipality-6, for allegedly taking two 16-year-old girls to a monastery under the pretext of securing them employment in Kathmandu.
Two girls residing in Manav Sewa Ashram were unreachable on December 6 after school and were found in an under-construction monastery located in Gorkha Municipality-7 on December 7.
Police Inspector Ravindra Adhikari of the District Police Office Gorkha revealed that during the interrogation of the girls, it was disclosed that the accused allured them by promising to take them to Kathmandu and secure employment for them.
The Director of Manav Seva Ashram Muna Lama filed a complaint against the accused on December 10.
The police informed that the accused has been arrested and a case has been registered in the District Court under the human trafficking and transportation offenses.
