Accused of Human Trafficking and Illegal Transportation Arrested
Om Bahadur Tamang, 59, alias Prem Lama, Temal Rural Municipality-3 Sarmatli, was arrested on 10 April 2023 from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-15, Bhagwanpau, on the charge of human trafficking and transportation of a 22-year-old woman.
The victim filed a complaint against the accused at District Police Office Kavre, on 14 September 2021, on the charge of human trafficking and trafficking.
The victim accused Tamang of luring her to Delhi, India on the pretext of employment, on 14 September 2017. District Police Office Kavre DSP, Dhundiraj Neupane, said that she was sold to a prostitution house.
DSP Neupane informed that the court has extended the police investigation period by 7 days and the necessary investigation is underway.
