Accused of Caste-based Discrimination Arrested
A complaint has been filed against Tapendra Shahi, 22, and Madhu Shahi, 20 of Khadachakra Municipality-10 at the District Police Office on August 6, 2021, on the charge of beating Hasta Chandara, 18, of the same place. The victim has alleged that both of them had discriminated against him on the basis of his caste.
The victim’s uncle Munchandara has alleged the accused of verbally abusing the victim in a public place on August 3 and attacking him with a sharp weapon.
Inspector Bhupendra Shahi of the District Police Office told INSEC that the victim’s side has filed a complaint of caste-based discrimination and attempt to murder after which the police has begun the search for the accused.
The victim has sustained injuries on his head and chest and was referred to Nepalgunj hospital after the District Hospital of Kalikot couldn’t treat him, informed Acting Health Manager Ratnabir Sunar.
