Accused of Beating Arrested
Gyan Bahadur Tamang, 49, a Congress cadre of Namobuddha Municipality- 5 was arrested for beating Danny Dorji Lama, 30, and Jeetmaya Lama, 61, UML cadres of the same municipality July 18, 2022.
On July 17, around 5:30 p.m. the victims were attacked with a stick by the accused after which they were injured. Jeetmaya sustained injuries on her chest and forehead and Danny Dorji’s face and arms were wounded.
Both the victims were taken to Dhulikhel hospital on July 18 and were treated and discharged on July 19.
DSP Hari Khatiwada of the District Police Office said that the victim’s relatives filed the complaint against Tamang on July 18. He further added that correspondence was sent to Temal Police Station for a discussion between the victim and the accused as they belonged to the same local level.
