Accused of Attempted Trafficking Arrested
Police have arrested Lalita Chaudhary, 28, of Kanchanrup Municipality-11 and Ushadevi Malaha, 35, of Dhangadimai Municipality-1 on September 25, on the charge of attempted trafficking of a 16-year-old girl and a 19-year-old woman.
It is alleged that the accused had lured them both saying they would manage a job in Lahan which will pay them NRs. 50,000 per month.
According to the victims, the accused took them to Janakpur from Lahan in a vehicle saying they would get better opportunities in Janakpur but later had alight them in the middle of the road.
Police informed that they had arrested the accused while they were waiting for a vehicle at Choharwa on the way to Madar of Siraha near the Nepal-India border.
According to DSP Rajendra Shrestha of the Area Police Office, Mirchaiya, a complaint was taken from the family of the victim on the same day and the further process has been launched against the accused.
