Accused of Abuse Arrested
Police arrested Dinesh Kumar Raut,23, a resident of Til Rural Municipality-9, Rasa Ghar in Jumla and currently residing in Duwakotmod, Changunarayan Municipality-2, Bhaktapur, on the charge of abusing a 24-year-old woman through social media.
The victim filed a complaint at the Cyber Bureau of Police Headquarters, Bhotahiti on June 3, 2023, alleging that the accused had committed character assassination by using TikTok.
DSP Pashupati Kumar Rai, Spokesperson of Nepal Police’s Cyber Bureau Bhotahiti, said that the accused used obscene captions with a fake ID and uploaded obscene videos on various social networks.
DSP Rai said that the bureau has extended the deadline of seven days from the district court on June 5, and detained the accused.
