Accused Murderer Arrested
Police have arrested Sabrin Khatun alias Madina, 58 of Bode Basain VDC-6 on September 13 on charge of murdering her daughter in-law Fatama Khatun alias Hauwa.
A single bench of former District Court judge Chandra Bahadur Saru had given a verdict regarding the case. The court had ordered to sentence Sabrin and her husband Gaffar Miya, 60 for three years each along with her daughter Aisaha Khatun, 15 for six months in 2015 April 2.
The victim’s husband was at large since the police had recovered the body of the victim from her house in 2013 August 14. The victim’s father Farmud Miya, 65 of Pansera VDC-7 had lodged a complaint at Area Police Office of Kalyanpur on August 15, 2013. The postmortem of the victim’s body was conducted at Zonal hospital in Rajbiraj Municipality-3 on August 15, 2013.
Former inspector Jitendra Bhattrai had registered the complaint based on the statement given by witnesses. Murja was giving a physical and mental torture to the victim over the dowry dispute according to the neighbors.
The accused father-in-law of the victim was arrested on September 15, 2013 and is at large after he was released on bail. Similarly Aisaha is also at large after she was released with a bail amount of Rs 5,000. Sabrin was also absconding after paying a bail amount since December 19, 2013. After her arrest, Sabrina is sent to Rajbiraj Prison according to District Court.
