Accused Involved in Abduction of Minor Released After Appearing in Court
Fortyseven-year-old Yamin Malang of Surunga Municipality-5, Kushaha, who was absconding after abducting a 16-year-old girl was presented in court and subsequently released on 6 May, 2024.
The District Court informed the bench of Judge Sanjib Pokharel released the accused for pre-trial detention.
A complaint was filed by the grandfather of the victim at the Area Police Office, Kadarbona on 18 August, 2023 alleging that the girl was abducted by 22-year-old Arbaj Ali, his 25-year-old brother Altaf Ali, of Surung a Municipality-5, Kushaha at half past eleven on the night of 26 July. He further informed that the accused entered the house while the girl was asleep, threatened him with a sharp weapon and abducted the girl with the help of their 47-year-old father Yamin Malang and his wife Miniya Khatun,42.
The Area Police Office of Kadarbona registered a case under abduction on 20 August and issued an arrest warrant against all four accused on the same day. In addition, the charge sheet was filed in the DIstrict Court on January 16. However, the victim and other accused have not been found yet.
