Accused Arrested on Charge of Killing Mother-in-law
Police arrested 28-year-old Suk Bahadur Tamang of Mandandeupur Municipality-2 on December 20, 2024, for the charge of robbing jewelry and killing his 52-year-old mother-in-law Tenmaya Tamang of Ghisingtol, Gairigaun, Mandandeupur Municipality-1. The incident allegedly occurred on December 15, 2024, when no one was at home.
Sarita Tamang, the deceased’s 25-year-old daughter, filed a complaint of killing at the District Police Office, Dhulikhel, on December 20, 2024. She and her husband had been living at her maternal home to care for her mother after her father’s death. Sarita informed that while she and her husband were away for work in Nagarkot, he tricked her by saying he was going to Bhaktapur, killed her mother at home, and later informed her, claiming that her mother had been killed by an unknown person.
The post mortem of the body was done on December 16, 2024, at Dhulikhel Hospital. DSP Min Bahadur Ghale of the District Police Office, Dhulikhel, stated that the accused is in custody and an investigation is ongoing.
