Accused Arrested for Sexual Abuse
Police arrested 39-year-old Jagat Bahadur Gandharba of Palungtar Municipality-5 on 20 July for the charge of sexually abusing a 14-year-old minor.
The accused was arrested on the basis of a verbal complaint alleging that he had sexually abused the victim on June 20. Subsequently, the aggrieved party filed a written complaint against the accused on July 21 at the District Police Office.
DSP Ramesh Kumar Shrestha of the District Police Office in Gorkha said that a case was registered against the accused in the District Court of Gorkha on July 21 under the charge of child sexual abuse. Additionally, the court has extended the date for further investigation.
The health examination of the victim was done on 21 July at the District Hospital.
