Accused Arrested for Killing Wife
Police arrested 65-year-old Pratap Singh Airi on 12 June for the charge of beating and killing his 60-year-old wife Suna Airi of Patan Municipality-4 Chillepani.
Inspector Khem Bikram KC of District Police Office, Baitadi, informed that the accused was arrested after the victim died during treatment at the District Hospital, Dadeldhura, on June 13. Suna had sustained severe injuries from her husband’s beating during a domestic dispute that occurred on June 12. The investigation into the incident is ongoing. In addition, their 22-year-old daughter-in-law, Bhawana Airi, sustained a leg injury while trying to intervene and stop the dispute between the couple.
Inspector KC said that the dead body has been taken to Dadeldhura Hospital for post-mortem. The body will be handed over for cremation only after the arrival of the victim’s son.
