Accused Arrested for Killing a Minor
Two suspects, 36-year-old Biri Tamang and 39-year-old Aaite Tamang(also known as Lokte), have been arrested by the police on July 28, on the accusation of murdering a 16-year-old girl in Helambu Rural Municipality-5, Bharati.
According to Nurvu Tamang, a relative of the victim, the girl’s body was discovered hanging from a tree in the nearby community forest on the evening of July 20, after she had been brutally beaten to death by the accused.
Inspector Manoj Shrestha of the local police office informed that Nurvu Tamang, the victim’s uncle, lodged a complaint at the Melamchi police station on July 21, on behalf of the deceased.
The post-mortem of the victim was conducted at the Primary Health Center in Melamchi on July 21.
As per the district court’s order, Inspector Manoj Shrestha informed that the accused individuals have been held at the Melamchi Area Police Office for investigation.
