Accused Arrested for Killing
Police arrested 48-year-old Mohammad Janif of Durga Bhagwati Rural Municipality-4, on November 26 for the charge of killing 22-year-old Husneyara Khatun and her two-year-old minor son. Mohammad was absconding after the incident.
Samaruddin Miya, the husband of the Khatun filed a complaint at the District Police Office in Gaur on April 23, 2020, alleging that the accused killed his wife and son at 8 p.m. that same evening. According to the complaint, the accused absconded the same night after trying to dispose of the bodies by throwing them into a burning.
DSP Dipak Kumar Raya of the District Police Office said that the accused who had been absconding for four years and six months was arrested on 26 November from Durga Bhagwati Rural Municipality, Pipara. The District Court extended the investigation period for seven-days.
