Accused Arrested for Human Trafficking
Police arrested 25-year-old Suryaman Tamang from Dupcheswar Rural Municipality-1 Gyangphedi on August 19, 2024, for charges of trafficking a one-year-old child along with two women of 20 and 19 age to India. Additionally, another accused in the same incident, Phurbachiring Tamang, was arrested on August 14 at the Krishnanagar checkpoint in Kapilvastu while attempting to travel to India. Binod Dhakal of the District Police Office informed that the court extended the deadline for investigation on August 16 under charges of human trafficking. The aggrieved party filed a search request at the District Police Office on August 2, reporting that the accused had taken the victims to India on July 30. The police stated that the accused were apprehended during the search operation. Inspector Dhakal informed that 31-year-old Mangale Tamang of Dupcheswar Rural Municipality-1, who was involved in the incident, is still at large. The condition of the victims and the child remains unknown, according to the police.
