Accused Arrested for Forcing Woman in Sexual Labor
Police arrested 29-year-old Nabin Shrestha of Sindhupalchowk Bahrabise-3 and 27-year-old Suvarna Tamang of Panchkhal-5 on October 27 for the charge of forcing an 18-year-old girl into sexual activity.
It has been reported that the victim started working at the Youth Friendship Restaurant in Panchkhal-5 on October 25 after her father’s death to support her family following her mother’s remarriage. However, she was forced into sexual labor, with Rs 1,500 charged to each customer visiting the hotel, of which Rs 1,000 was given to the victim. The hotel operator, 58-year-old Uddhabraj Giri from Panchkhal-1, is currently absconding, according to DSP Min Bahadur Ghale of the District Police Office, Dhulikhel.
The victim filed a complaint at the District Police Office Dhulikhel on 27 October under the charge of human trafficking. The health examination of the victim was done on the same day at Dhulikhel Hospital.
