Accused Arrested for Crime of Marital Rape
The police arrested the 26-year-old Ravi Oad of Krishnapur Municipality-5 on May 9 for the charge of marital rape of his 25-year-old woman.
Inspector Anand Chand of District Police Office, Kanchanpur said that the complaint against the accused was filed at Area police office, Jhalari alleging that he raped his wife on April 2 .However, the accused was on a foreign trip at that time and he immediately was present at the District Police Office after returning back.
DSP Umesh Joshi of District Police Office, Kanchanpur said that the accused is being investigated regarding the incident after the district court extended the date of five days.
DSP Joshi reported Oad, also the winner of the singing reality show, Nepal Idol season-2 in 2018, got married to the victim on March 27, 2024.
The medical examination of the victim was done on April 3 at the Mahakali Provincial Hospital, Mahendranagar.
