Accused Arrested for Attempted Killing
Police arrested Dhanabahadur Jimba, 40, Ashok Jimba, 30, Basanta Thing, 20, and Chandra Bahadur Moktan, 18, of Atharai Rural Municipality-5 on February 1 for attempting to kill Dhanapati Prasain, 55, of Atharai Rural Municipality-5, Chhatedhunga. The incident occurred on January 30 during a dispute in Atharai-4, Chisapani, where the accused reportedly subjected Prasain to brating and attempted to burn him alive. According to the police, the fire caused burns to the right ear of Prasain. Bishnu Prasad Oli, the Ward Chairperson of Atharai Rural Municipality-5, stated that the aggrieved party filed a complaint against the accused at the Area Police Office, Atharai, on January 31.
Prasain received primary treatment at the District Hospital, Panchthar, on January 30 before being transferred to the Birtacity Hospital, Jhapa for further medical care.
