Accused Arrested for Abducting Minor
Police arrested 35-year-old Mahesh Singh Khatri of Bhimdatta Municipality-16 and 33-year-old Dhurba Joshi of the same municipality on December 29, 2024 for the charges of abducting and holding a 16-year-old girl hostage
The accused, claiming to be police officers, abducted the girl on December 28 while she was with her friend near a Shiva temple in Bhimdatta Municipality-6. They used a motorcycle with the number plate BA 55 PA 9613 for the abduction. The police arrested the accused from Basantpur and rescued the girl from the same location as stated by DSP Umeshraj Joshi of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur.
DSP Umeshraj Joshi of the District Police Office said that the District Court, Kanchanpur, extended the remand of the accused for seven days. The investigation is ongoing under charges of Abduction and holding hostage.
