Former MP Arrested in Thaman BK Killing Case
Police arrested 45-year-old Kaushal Yadav, former Madhesh provincial assembly member on 30 June in the killing case of ASI Thaman BK of the Armed Police Force. ASI Thaman BK of the Armed Police Force Base Camp, Jaleshwar, Mahottari was killed by a group of Madhesi Morcha activists on September 11 during the Madhesh movement. Subsequently, Prem BK filed a case against the accused, including former MP Yadav, at the Mahottari District Court, Jaleshwar on the same day of the incident. However, Yadav absconded and the case was adjourned.
DSP Santulal Prasad Jayswar informed that Yadav was arrested for investigation in connection with an accident involving a Scorpio DL 3 CAY 8615, which was hit by a Mahindra Pickup 2-02-001 CHA 0045 on the Postal Highway of Samsi Rural Municipality-5, Mahottari. He informed that Yadav was arrested and presented in court on the same day.
Kedarnath Jha, the Information Officer of the District Court Mahottari, informed that since the case file against Yadav is currently in the High Court Janakpur and will be transferred to the District Court Mahottari on July 1, he has been sent to police custody. Additionally, a case under the charge of killing has been filed against Yadav.
