Absconding Accused Arrested for Rape and Killing
Police arrested Janak Deuba, 30, and Sanjib Chaudhary, 28, both from Dhangadhi Sub Metropolitan Municipality-5, on September 21, 2024, for the rape and killing of 31-year-old woman, from Dhangadhi Sub Metropolitan City-4, on November 15, 2023.
SP Padam Bahadur Bista of the District Police Office in Kailali reported that both the victim and the accused were drug addicts. The accused allegedly called the victim on November 15, 2023, raped and killed her, and then absconded. The accused have been arrested, and further investigation is ongoing. The body of the woman was found in the Saraswati Community Forest in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-6 on November 22, 2023. SP Bista reported that after 11 months, the absconding accused has been arrested.
The postmortem of the body was conducted on November 23, 2023, at Seti Provincial Hospital in Dhangadhi, and the body was subsequently handed over to the relatives.
