Accused of Gang Rape Arrested

Police have arrested five accused and six others who had helped them in escaping after a gang-rape in Kamalamai Municipality-5. They were arrested by the police from different locations.

Girls of age 15, 16 and 17 were gang-raped by nine people on October 16, 2021, at Kamalamai Municipality-5.

Those involved in the incident had absconded. Aakash Magar, 22, was arrested by the police from Golanjor Rural Municipality-7 Khurket on October 24.

Likewise, Deepak Magar, 20, Arjun Magar, 23, Dhan Bahadur Bamjan, 23, Milan Lama, 21, of Boje in Kamalamai Municipality-5 were arrested by the police on October 22 from Bardibas of Mahottari District.

According to DSP Manoj Kumar Lama of the District Police Office, they were arrested from Bardibas while they were preparing to abscond to India. DSP Lama said that a search was on for Bishwa Rai, 21, who was also involved in the incident.

Similarly, Shiva Devkota of Kamalamai Municipality-4, Sanjeev Magar of Kamalamai Municipality-5, Prem Shrestha, Suman Thapa, Megh Bahadur Shrestha of Kamalamai Municipality-6 and Ishwar Ale of Sarlahi Hariwan Municipality-8 were also arrested on October 22.

According to DSP Lama, a Scorpio (Ba 10 Cha 1836), a motorbike (Province 2-02-003 Pa 1210) and a motorcycle (Province 2-02-004 Pa 5376) were also seized.

Heema Lama, 22, Ganesh Magar, 24, and Bibek Magar, 22, of Kamalamai Municipality-5 were arrested by the police on October 17 on the charge of being involved in the incident.

The girls were examined at Sindhuli Hospital on October 16.
