Clash In Batteshwor; Five Injured

Two policemen and three locals have been injured in a clash between police and locals at Batteshwor Rural Municipality-5, Shantipur on September 6.

There was a scuffle between the police and the locals over the Sakhuwa wooden logs that fell into the Aurahi stream.

Inspector Deepak Raya, 35, of the Area Police Office and police constable Ram Bishwas Paruk, 30, were injured in the clash, informed SI Mustafa.

The injured policemen have been treated at Mahendranagar Clinic. Injured Inspector Deepak Raya has six stitches on his forehead.

Santosh Sada, 20, Dilip Sada and Tetari Sada, 35, of Batteshwor Rural Municipality-5 have been injured in the incident.

The injured are being treated at Janaki Medical College Teaching Hospital, Ramdaiya, said local Ajay Kumar Raut.

The locals of Santipur had found three-foot-thick wooden logs of Sakhuwa in the afternoon of September 6 in the Aurahi River flowing between Batteshwor Municipality and Kshireshwornath Municipality.

The clash took place at around 9 pm due to obstruction by the locals.

There was a dispute that the police would take the wooden logs to the area for action and the locals said that the logs should belong to the village.
