7 Years Imprisonment For The Crime Of Rape
The District Court, Laliguras Municipality-4 sentenced 7 years imprisonment to 31-year-old Dawa Sherpa for the crime of the rape of a 26-year-old woman.
Parasmadi Pokhrel, Registrar of the District Court informed that the accused was found guilty and sentenced to imprisonment along with a fine of Rs. 3,00,000 and compensation of Rs. 3,00,000 under the bench of honorable Judge Pramesh Pokhrel on September 11, 2023.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint against the accused on July 28, 2022, alleging he committed the crime of rape on July 27.
Police arrested the accused from his residence on July 28, 2022, on the basis of the complaint filed by the victim. Subsequently, a rape case was officially registered in the District Court on August 22, 2022, through the Public Prosecutor Office.
The accused remained in custody pending trial as per the order of honorable Judge Pramesh Pokhrel, the District Court on August 22, 2022.
The health examination of the victim was done on July 28, 2022, at the district hospital.
