65 Schools are at Risk of Land slide
An incessant rain on July 25 and 26 has risked at least 65 schools of the district according to District Education Officers Pyuthan.
According to the DEO Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, out of 385 schools nine have been completely destroyed and 55 sustained slight damage. School buildings have cracks due to the land slide he added.
The land slide has affected 12 primary, lower secondary and secondary schools of Khawang, Swaliwang, Phopli, Rajwara, Arkha, Puja, and Dameri VDCs according to the District Education Office of Pyuthan.
The estimation of damage caused by landslide is being collected so that studies of students can go smoothly said DEO Narayan Bhattarai. He further said that schools are closed due to monsoon however from next month it is resuming. If alternatives are not followed, it might affect the student’s studies.
