20 Years Imprisonment for Crime of Abduction and Rape
District Court, Panchkhal Municipality-1, sentenced Mangal Krishna Tamang, 33, to 20 years of imprisonment for the abduction and rape of a 17-year-old girl.
The bench of Chief Judge, Mohanraj Bhattarai ordered Tamang to pay fines of Rs.100, 000 and 150,000 to the victim as compensation.
The aggrieved party approached The District Police Office and filed a case against Tamang on March 8, 2022, complaining that the incident had happened on March 7, 2022.
The victim underwent a health examination on March 9 at Dhulikhel Hospital. Area police, Pashupatinagar, Illam arrested Tamang on March 22.
District Police Office registered a case against Tamang on April 15, in the district court on charges of abduction, physical hostage, and coercion.
Tamang was remanded to judicial custody on April 27 by the district court.
