20 Polling Centres Found Extremely Sensitive in Surkhet

Twenty polling stations in Surkhet have been designated as highly sensitive for the upcoming elections of the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly to be held on November 20. Out of a total of 139 polling stations, 20 polling stations are highly sensitive, 86 are sensitive and 33 are normal. A total of 293 polling stations have been designated in the district.

Similarly, Durga Prasad Chalise, head of the Province Election Office, said that there are 243,614 voters in the district.

There are one constituency for the House of Representatives and four constituencies for the Provincial Assembly in the district.

In the last local elections, there were 291 polling stations and 140 polling stations. For the upcoming elections, 2 polling stations have been added in the district and 1 polling station has been added, said Chalise, the head of the election office.

Similarly, Chief District Officer Khagendra Prasad Rijal said that the District Election Security Committee had held a meeting and had made a security plan and implemented it and said that data was requested for population management. He said that the final phase of the temporary voter list is being done. He informed that the election code of conduct is also being monitored.

According to SSP Madhav Prasad Shrestha of Karnali Province Police Office, 9 thousand 78 policemen have been selected keeping in mind the security of elections in the province. He said that the issue of how many security personnel to deploy in the district is yet to be discussed.
