Court Adjourns Case Against Accused of Rape of a 14 Year Old Girl

The case against 22-year-old Mo Ziauddin of Dakneswari Municipality-9, Patthargadha Muslim Toll, accused of raping an 18-year-old girl, has been adjourned. The decision to adjourn the case was made by the bench of Judge Harishchandra Ingnam on October 7, the same day the charge sheet was filed in the district court.

The genesis of the case lies in the complaint filed by the victim’s mother at the district police office on August 6, 2022. According to the complainant, the alleged rape occurred on the evening of July 31, 2022, as the victim was making her way home and was assaulted by the accused. The district police office officially recorded the complaint on August 5, 2022. Subsequently, on August 11, 2023, the district court granted permission to arrest the accused.

The accused remains at large and has not been apprehended, despite the court’s authorization for arrest. The medical examination of the victim was conducted on August 5, 2022, at Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital, forming a critical part of the evidentiary proceedings in this case.
