INSEC Provides Support to Victim of Domestic Violence
Ms. Bami Kami, a 58-year-old resident of Bheriganga Municipality-6, who faced financial constraints preventing her from engaging in the legal process, received financial assistance from the Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC), Karnali Province Office, Surkhet, on December 7.
Ms. Kami, citing polygamous activities and domestic violence perpetrated by her husband, highlighted the unresolved matters concerning food expenses, asset division and a pending divorce case in the district court . Consequently, she encountered challenges in meeting transportation costs and covering legal fees.
Ms. Kami submitted an application to INSEC on September 20, seeking financial support. INSEC’s Karnali Province Coordinator, Mr. Narayan Subedi, approved financial assistance amounting to 4,500 rupees based on the merits of the application.
Coordinator Subedi clarified that the funds were allocated to alleviate the financial burden associated for application fees, photocopying expenses, and travel expenses incurred during the judicial process. He expressed confidence that, with the assistance provided by INSEC, the legal proceedings would be rendered more manageable for Ms. Kami.
