Update of December 23 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 826,664 after additional 241 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on December 23, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 809,922 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 98% along with 263 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 9,510 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on December 23, 3% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 17.2% people diagnosed positive till now.

Till now, the death toll has reached 11,581. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, two died on December 23. There are 5,161 people in home isolation. Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur have more than 500 active cases.

On December 23, 2,116 people were tested through the antigen process among which 19 were diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Till date, 96,092 people have been diagnosed positive with antigen process. The number of infected, cured, and active cases has not been separated into this number. According to the Ministry, 9,838,376 people have been fully vaccinated till December 23.
