Update of June 5 Regarding COVID-19 Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 585,100 after additional 3,540 new cases were detected positive in Nepal on June 5, 2021. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 484,373 of the total infected have recovered, and the recovery rate has reached 81.8% along with the 8,243 latest recovered.

According to the Ministry, 11,471 swab tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Out of the total number of tests conducted on June 5, 31% were diagnosed positive and overall there were 18.7% people diagnosed positive till now. On June 5, 470 people below the age of 19 were diagnosed positive for COVID-19.

Till now, the death toll has reached 7,799 According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 68 people died on June 5. There are 92,928 in isolation. There are more than 500 active cases in Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Rautahat, Dhanusha, Parsa, Mahottari, Bara, Saptari, Siraha, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Kavrepalanchowk, Makwanpur, Dhading, Nuwakot, Sindhupalchowk, Sindhuli, Ramechhap, Kaski, Nawalparasi East, Gorkha, Tanahu, Syangja, Myagdi, Dang, Rupandehi, Banke, Palpa, Bardiya, Kapilbastu, Arghakhanchi, Nawalparasi West, Surkhet, Salyan, Dailekh, Dadeldhura, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Baitadi, Doti and Achham.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 75 districts have been following complete or partial prohibition till June 5, 2021, no further information have been received later.

In Bagmati Province,

The prohibitory order in Dolakha has been extended till June 14, 2021. The meeting of the DCCMC held on June 5, decided to extend the period of prohibition.

In Gandaki Province,

The prohibitory order in Parbat has been extended till June 14, 2021. The meeting of the DCCMC held on June 5, decided to extend the period of prohibition. In Syangja, the Khanidanda tole of Waling Municipality-13 has been sealed after 19 people were diagnosed positive with COVID-19 on the same day. A statement signed by Ward No. 13 Chairperson Ananda Pathak said that the meeting of the Disaster Management Committee has completely sealed the Khanidanda area from June 5 until further notice.

In Karnali Province,

The prohibitory order in Rukum West and Jajarkot has been extended till June 14, 2021. The meeting of the DCCMC held on June 5, decided to extend the period of prohibition.

In Sudur Paschim Province,

The prohibitory order in Accham has been extended till June 14, 2021. The meeting of the DCCMC held on June 5, decided to extend the period of prohibition. Of the 4,068 infected people in the district so far, 430 are actively infected, 33 are being treated in hospitals, and 23 have died, said Dev Joshi, information officer at the Health Office, Achham.
