Exercise of citizen’s right to vote and be elected at the fair periodic election is a prerequisite to the legitimacy of governance. Functionality of the democracy rests upon the Human rights friendly electoral process along with assurance of voting rights. Free and Fair competition must be guaranteed to every individual participating in the election with the desire of contributing to the good governance of their country. The acts of controlling voting rights via use of force or resource, is contrary to and a serious violation of the global standards of human rights and the constitutional rights of Nepali people.
