A complaint was filed by the victim’s family on June 8 at the Area Police Office, Mahendranagar, accusing Manoj Shah, 22, of Laxminiya Rural Municipality-1, of raping an 18-year-old girl on June 6. The accused has absconded following the incident, and the search is ongoing. The victim underwent a medical examination on June 8 at the provincial hospital in Janakpurdham.
