Pre-review of Human Rights Year Book-2019 held in Nuwakot
The pre-review program of Human Rights Year Book-2019 has been held in Bidur of Nuwakot on November 25.
During the program, INSEC district representative Nawadeep Shrestha presented the incidents of Human Rights violation of the year 2018.
The data includes 37 incidents of human rights violations which includes 13 incidents of rape. During the period, three women, eight children and three women with disability were the victims of rape. In other violations, eight incidents of attempted rape, six of polygamy, one of allegation of being witch and human trafficking, five incidents of killing.
Speaking at the program, MP Narayan Prasad Khatiwada said that the increment of rape in the district is very sad and stressed that political parties must provide support to the police in order to minimize such incidents. To control the violence against women, social awareness is important, he added.
In the program, member Debaki Paudel of NGO Federation said that settling the women violence case is the reason behind the repetition of such incidents.
