Pre-review of Human Rights Year Book
A half yearly review of Human Rights Year Book has been concluded in various districts . The incidents has been documented for the publication of Human Rights Year Book 2018.
INSEC District Representative Prakash BK of Bajhang presented 15 incidents of human right violation within the last 6 months of which, 9 incidents were of caste discrimination and 6 incidents of domestic violence.
The concerned stakeholders along with the participants in a program said that there has been increasing number of incidents of caste discrimination and domestic violence.
According to INSEC District Representative Bhupendra Bista of Dadeldhura, there is a decrease in human right violation in the district as comparison to previous years.
INSEC, Dadeldhura organized a half-yearly pre-review of the incidents of human rights violation on June 22 for the publications of Human Rights Year Book -2018. A report was presented showing the decrement in issues of human right violation.
Last year, INSEC documented 32 incidents of human rights violations within 6 months, whereas there were 15 incidents of human rights violations recorded this year.
INSEC District Representative Shiva Ram Dhungana of Achham presented 11 incidents of human right violation within 6 months period among which there was 1 incident of attempt to rape, 2 incidents of killing, 5 incidents of beating along with 2 incidents of verbal abuse.
CDO, Shankar Bahadur Bista in the program mentioned about the role that INSEC has been playing in the field of human rights. He added, the year book has made the concerned stakeholders responsible and accountable. He said-, ‘everyone should work for zero tolerance of human right violation.’
DSP Niranjandatta Bhatta of DPO said that the leading cause of domestic violence has always been the usage of alcohol.
According to INSEC District Representative of Banke, Binod Pandey, INSEC Nepalgunj organized a half-yearly pre-review of the incidents of human rights violation on June 22 collected for the publications of Human Rights Year Book -2018.
Chief District Officer Rabhilal Pantha suggested incorporating the positive aspects and activities of government in the year book. Speaking at the program, he said there has been decrement in the incidents of human rights violations in recent days.
The regional director of the National Human Rights Commission, Murari Kharel suggested incorporating the analytical reports which mentions about the effects on business, profession and daily life of people due to the strike organized by political parties.
He further suggested including the subject matter of inequality in implementation of rule of law, the issue of dearth of medicines in different health post along with the tampered incident of suicide.
Chief of Women and Children Office, Sunita KC suggested to include the events of ground level along with the activities of District Legal Aid Committee, including the activities of government and NGOs working in the field of women’s right.
Regional coordinator of Federation of Nepalese Journalists Jhalak Gaire said that the event should be presented in an analytical way. FWLD, Sunil Shrestha suggested to incorporate the issue of citizenship and implementation of the court order.
IHRC Bishwajit Tiwari also requested to include the order of court made under the PIL.
INSEC regional coordinator Bhola Mahat, Nepalgunj speaking at the program said that the program was organized with the objective to re-confirm the collected events and facts of human rights violations. He also added that the program helps to discuss and conclude the pre-disputed events.
INSEC district representative Binod Pandey, Banke presented 73 incidents of human right violation collected within 6 months period among which there were 4 incidents of violation of Civil and Political Rights, 10 incidents of child rape, 7 incidents of all forms of discrimination against women, 2 incident of killing by Family members, 2 incidents of polygamy, 4 incidents of human trafficking and transportation, 1 incident of caste discrimination, 5 incidents of property damage along with 33 incidents of domestic violence.
