Annual Review before Publishing Nepal Human Rights Year Book 2020
Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC) held an annual review program before publishing Nepal Human Rights Year Book 2020 on 17 December in which the cases collected showed more women victimization.
In the program, District Representative Bishnu Prasad Devkota presented 21 incidents collected in the district since January 2019 till now among the participants.
Those incidences included 9 cases of domestic violence, 4 cases of rape and sexual abuses, 4 cases of physical abuse and 4 cases of caste discrimination.
In the program, Mayor of the Tripurasundari Municipality, Om Bahadur Budha pointed illiteracy, lack of awareness and lack of legal knowledge being the catalyst of increasing women violence every year. He also emphasized on making Human Rights Education Program effective to reduce these incidences.
Mayor Budha mentioned that the municipality is prepared to collaborate with INSEC for organizing awareness programs to minimize such incidences.
