Women Commission conducts inter-dialogue program
The Women Rights Commission has organized an inter dialogue program on November 28 in Rajbiraj with the objective of minimizing gender violence prevailing in the society.
The inter-dialogue program was held with stakeholders by the commission and expected to get support from all people to minimize the violence. A 16 days campaign against gender violence is being operated nationwide.
Speaking at the program, Bhagwati Ghimire, acting chairperson of the commission, CDO Bal Dev Gautam, secretary Ram Prasad Bhattarai of women commission, local development officer Sudev Pokhrel said that it is essential to have rule of law in order to stop the gender violence. They further expected help from everyone.
Secretary Bhattarai showed his concern and added that there are 51 percent women in the country however the state is not clear about it.
The program was organized in coordination with Women and Children Office of the district with the participation of representatives from political parties, journo, rights activist and officials from the commission. The participants stressed on spreading awareness about the gender violence.
