Victim of caste-based-discrimination demands for action

A memorandum has been handed over to District Administration Office of Kalikot on February 11 demanding the action against the guilt involved in a caste-based-discrimination on 57 years old Dilli Kami of Narahari Nath Rural Municipality-1.

The victim’s party complained that Chan Bista and Narendra Bista of the same place misbehaved and beaten him in a public place on January 1. The victim’s party had lodged complaint at District Police office of Kalikot on January 4 however police released the accused on a normal date. The victim added that the police administration did not take the incident seriously and failed to take further action to the accused. The memorandum handed over to the office drew the attention over the incident according to District coordinator Bir Tiruwa of National Dalit Wale fare Federation. The memorandum was handed over in initiation from INSEC district representative Kali Bahadur Malla, rights activists of the district and Dalit representatives.

The memorandum drew attention of the administration to take this issue seriously and demanded the action against the accused as per the law.
