Victim Accuses Police Of Not Registering Complaint Against Rape Case
It is alleged that Ramman Shrestha, 52, and Bharatman Shrestha, 45, of Dhanushadham Municipality-3 have been raping a 17-year-old girl for the past two years. The victim had filed a complaint at the District Police Office on September 8, but her complaint was denied.
The victim told the INSEC Dhanusha representative on September 20 that she had lodged a complaint for justice as the duo had repeatedly raped her.
The victim has been hiding the incident as she had threatened to be killed.
Women’s rights activist Gunja Raya told INSEC Dhanusha representative that the police administration and local activists of political parties were trying to reconcile the incident in the village.
She said that the girl was kept in a safe house in Janakpurdham.
According to SP Ramesh Kumar Basnet of the District Police Office, Dhanusha, the girl was examined at the Provincial Hospital, Janakpurdham on September 8.
After receiving information about the incident, an investigation has started, said SP Basnet.
