Urge to stop election code of conduct violation

The INSEC district representatives throughout the nation have reported that the violation of election code of conduct is rampant along with the approaching date of election.

According to the Banke District representative Binod Pandey, the human rights network of the district has drawn the attention regarding the rampant violation of election code of conduct in the district by candidates.

The network has also demanded to take action against those involved in violation.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has appealed local administration to be serious on the security of candidate, voters, staffs, observers and human rights defenders on the meeting held at NHRC regional office of Nepalgunj on November 22.

Left alliance, democratic alliance,RJP, RPP and independent candidates were found to be violating election code of conduct in the district.

According to Mahottari District representative Ajaya Kumar Shah of Mahottari, the election environment is at its peak along with the approaching date of election. Along with the approaching date, the political parties and candidates have violated the code of conduct. The candidates and cadres have openly used t-shirts with electoral symbols, bigger flags and banners.

According to INSEC district representative Indira Bhattarai of Morang, the political parties are busy on their election campaign at the same time the violation of election code of conduct is rampant in the district. They have used t-shirts, flags, bigger banners, flexes which are prohibited by the election commission.

The regional chief of election office said that many complaints have been lodged at election office regarding the violation of code of conduct.
