Update Of September 29 Regarding Corona Virus Infection

The number of COVID-19 infected people have reached 76,258 after additional 1,513 new cases detected positive in Nepal on September 29, 20a20. Out of them, 55,472 are males. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 55,371 have been discharged after recovery. On September 29, the rate of recovery reached 72.6% along with the 731 latest discharged after treatment. The ministry reported that 20,396 people are being treated. Till now, the death toll has reached 491. According to the Ministry, 10,891 number of swabs tests were conducted in the past 24 hours.

More than 500 infected people are being treated in Morang of Province 1, Siraha of Province 2, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Chitwan of Bagmati Province and Rupandehi of Province 5. There are zero infections in Manang and Mustang of Gandaki and Mugu, Dolpa and Humla of Karnali

In Province 2

According to Mahottari Representative Ajay Kumar Sah, a 75-year-old woman from Bardibas Municipality-3 died on September 29 while undergoing treatment at the Corona Special Hospital of Janakpurdham.

Similarly, a 58-year-old health worker working in Jagarnathpur of Parsa district Manara Siswa Municipality-7 died at Karun Hospital in Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu on September 28. He had been undergoing treatment on a ventilator since September 26 after suffering from respiratory problems.

According to Sarlahi Representative Budhan Sah, a 68-year-old woman living in Barhathwa Municipality-6 died on September 29 while undergoing treatment in the ICU ward of Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital in Birgunj. The deceased was a diabetic and was admitted to the hospital on September 22.

Meanwhile, the Barhathwa Municipality has issued a notice on September 29 after two executive members and some employees of Barhathwa Municipality were found to be COVID-19 positive.

In Bagmati Province,

On September 29, 747 people were found positive of COVID-19 in Kathmandu, 115 in Lalitpur, 65 in Bhaktapur, 62 in Chitwan, 15 in Kavrepalanchok, 6/6 in Makwanpur and Sandhuli, 4/4 in Nuwakot and Dhading, 2 in Dolakha and 1 each in Ramechhap and Sindhupalchowk. With the confirmation the number of infected people has reached 28,499. Of them, 15,311 have returned home after treatment while 13,004 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals and isolation centres. The number of deaths due to corona virus infection in the province has reached 184 so far.

In Province 5

According to Banke Representative Smriti Devkota, two men have died in Banke on September 29 due to the COVID-19. The deceased has been identified as Naresh Babu Shrestha, focal person of District Health Office, Banke. Shrestha said that both of them were suffering from pneumonia. At the same time, the death toll in the district has reached 15.

According to Nawalparasi West Representative Narayan Parajuli, two detainees of the district prison were diagnosed COVID-19 positive. A 46-year-old man and a 52-year-old man of Ramgram Municipality-14 were found to be infected with COVID-19. At the same time, the number of corona infections in the district has reached 538. So far, six people have died in the district from Corona.

In Karnali Province,

According to Salyan Representative Mina Budhathoki, the rural municipality office and all ward offices have been closed for a week after the people’s representatives and employees of Triveni rural municipality tested positive COVID-19. According to the decision of the emergency meeting of the Rural Municipality Disaster Management Committee, the Rural Municipality Office and Luham Bazaar have been completely closed from 5 pm on September 29. The office of Chhatreswori rural municipality and the area of Ward No. 6 have been sealed for one week after 15 people including the staff were found COVID-19 positive.

In Sudur Paschim Province

According to Kailali Representative Mainamoti Chaudhary, all services except ambulance, fire brigade and health services have been suspended from September 29 an employee of the Gauriganga Municipality was found COVID-19 positive.
