Update of October 7 Regarding Corona Virus Infection
The number of COVID-19 infected people have reached 94,253 after additional 3,439 new cases detected positive in Nepal on October 7, 2020. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 68,668 have been discharged after recovery. On October 7, the rate of recovery reached 72.8% along with the 1,126 latest discharged after treatment. The ministry reported that 25,007 people are being treated out of which 14,411 are in home isolation, 233 are being treated in ICU and 37 are under the treatment using a ventilator. Till now, the death toll has reached 578. According to the Ministry, 14,209 number of swabs tests were conducted in the past 24 hours.

In Province 1,
According to Udaypur representative Bharat Khadka, Katari Hospital has suspended all services except emergency services after the patients referred for further treatment were confirmed of being COVID-19 positive. The hospital has suspended all services except emergency since October 7 by issuing a notice. According to Dr. Muklesh Madhavi of the hospital, all the services except emergency have been suspended till further notice.
In Province 2,
According to Saptari Representative, Manohar Kumar Pokharel, all the activities of the municipality office and subordinate branch offices have been completely stopped for a week after an employee of Khadak Municipality was infected with COVID-19 on October 7.
The health service at Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital, Rajbiraj has been affected because of the fear of COVID-19 spread. Local youths complained on October 7 that the quality of the hospital has deteriorated due to the shortage of manpower. A group of youths have also recited slogans against the acting medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Ranjit Kumar Jha, for operating the clinic and ignoring the directives of the government and the Ministry of Health.
According to Siraha Representative, Durga Pariyar, four employees of Dhangadhimai Municipality have been infected with COVID-19. A spokesperson of the municipality, Yonjan, said that all the services from 1 to 14 wards and except for the essentials of the office have been shut down due to the safety of the employees.
In Karnali Province
According to Surkhet Representative, Durga Thapa, all the services of the district court have been suspended from October 8 to 11 except for the urgent ones after the confirmation of COVID-19 to the employees of the district court. Until further notice, services other than habeas corpus, facility under Article 155 of the Criminal Procedure Code, petitions for children in kindergartens, indictment registration, detention order, extension, detention and issuance of arrest warrant will be closed.
In Sudur Paschim Province,
According to Dadeldhura Representative Bhupendra Bista, the office of the Amargadhi Municipality has been sealed since October 7 after an employee of Amargadhi Municipality was diagnosed positive with COVID-19. Hemanta Raj Pant, acting chief administrative officer of the municipality, said that all the services except the emergency services provided by the office of the municipality have been suspended till the next meeting of the local director and facilitation committee formed for prevention and control of COVID-19.
